Are you a SOLIDWORKS Visualize Standard User getting this error message when trying to open your program?
“Your system does not meet the minimum memory requirements. The application will now quit.”
You are probably well aware that your computer meets the hardware recommendations, but this issue can stem from a problem with the Windows® Management Instrumentation (WMI) service:
To see if WMI is the reason behind this, click Windows Start, and search for and run msinfo32.exe.

This opens the System Information dialog box. If the text “Can’t Collect Information…” appears, it means that the WMI service is not working properly. SOLIDWORKS Visualize uses this information to determine if your system meets the minimum requirements.
- A potential quick fix is to reset the WMI Repository (Windows 10 & 11):
- Click Windows Start, and search for the Command prompt.
- Right-click on the icon and Click “Run as Administrator”

From the command prompt, enter net stop winmgmt.- If you are notified that you are stopping other services, click OK.
- From the command prompt, enter winmgmt /resetrepository.
- From the command prompt, enter net start winmgmt.
If you have further issues with this or have additional questions, consult with your IT team, or feel free to reach out to your SOLIDWORKS Value Added Reseller.
