Google has tried to break into the laptop market several times with its Chrome operating system. It’s been over a decade since ChromeOS launched, but we still haven’t seen it blossom into something worth using every day. Sure, folks who love it will use it as their daily, but it’s not quite mainstream.
Googlebooks is the brand’s attempt at making it work in the laptop space, and this time, there’s a good chance that it could be more successful. While there are plenty of big brands on board, the main differentiating factor is that this device will work with Android phones to provide a seamless experience.
A new way to customize
We explored some of the perks of Googlebooks just a few days ago, but one that stood out is now getting some attention on the Android side. 9to5Google shares how the Create My Widget process will work on Android phones after discovering a Google Play Store listing.
If you’re not familiar with Create My Widget, it basically will allow you to combine widgets to make one of your own. The best part of this is that there’s no coding required. Just tell the app what you want and it will create one for you.
And just in case you wanted to take a wild guess, this is using Gemini and AI to make this process much simpler. The fun part is that you can make these widgets personal, which is something most people have thought of before but just didn’t have the ability to create them.
You can see some examples of what you can come up with in the Google Play Store listing. We’ve also listed some of the images in this article as well. Google shows off countdown events, along with widgets for travel.
In addition, the brand also shows off widgets that can track specific topics. Again, it’s really going to depend on what you end up creating. If you want to give it a try, it’s available to install from the Google Play Store. Unfortunately, the device on hand isn’t compatible with the app, so I won’t be able to download it at the moment to try it out.

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.
In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.
The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
